The release of next version of Apple’s OS X, 10.7, has been confirmed for tomorrow. The rumors we heard today were confirmed on a company earnings call this afternoon when Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer noted that OS X Lion would officially land Wednesday July 20th.Lion ships with what Apple says to be over 250 new features, some of which will be significant changes to the OS (like Safari-only booting, LaunchPad, and Resume to name a few). Apple has previously said that the update will sell for $29.99 and that it will be available for download through the Mac Apple Store on computers that are running the latest version of OS X.AdChoices广告Once Lion has been released the hope is that we will see some new computers from Apple, and sources seem to be fairly confident that a MacBook Air refresh is pending. No new hardware has been confirmed yet, but all signs seem to be pointing towards a few refreshed models.OS X Lion should be viewable/usable in Apple stores tomorrow morning. And barring a mass server meltdown Mac owners should be able to download the update then as well.
