first_imgTerri White has been appointed editor-in-chief of Bauer Media’s flagship film and entertainment brand, Empire. White is an award-winning editor with fifteen years’ experience working for publishing companies on both sides of the Atlantic. Molly Dean has been named content strategy manager at Reuters TV. She had been managing editor, multimedia, at Lumentus. Derek Blasberg has joined Vanity Fair as “Our Man on the Street.” Blasberg will write features and a recurring “It Girl”/”It Boy” Spotlight for the magazine, contribute regularly to VF.com, and host his own series on V.F.’s video channel. Most recently, he was the editor-at-large of Harper’s Bazaar and has contributed to magazines such as Vogue, W, Interview, and Glamour, as well as to The New York Times. He is a senior staff member at the Gagosian Gallery in New York, and his books Classy and Very Classy appeared on the best-sellers list. Ellen Wulfhorst has been named chief correspondent, Americas, at Reuters. She had been national correspondent, domestic news, there. The Financial Times has announced the appointment of Tom Betts as chief data officer (CDO), a new position created in recognition of the vital role that data and customer intelligence plays at the FT. With this promotion, Betts will become the first CDO to join the FT executive board, which oversees the company’s global strategy and performance. He had been deputy editor, Off Duty, at The Wall Street Journal.  Here are the rest of this week’s people on the move: Dylan Byers has been named senior reporter of media and politics at CNNMoney and CNN Politics. He had been media reporter at Politico.  She joins Bauer from Time Out New York where she worked as editor-in-chief, overseeing the brand’s editorial direction and content across all platforms. Under her leadership, Time Out New York won several American industry awards including Most Improved Publication, Overall Digital Excellence, Best Use of Instagram and Cover of the Year. White herself was named one of Folio’s Top Women in US Media, 2015. Chrissy Mahlmeister has been named lifestyle editor at BuzzFeed. She had been West Coast editor at MTV.last_img
